Are you disappointed by the quality of the Assessments that are sometimes presented at Fostering Panels? Are you responsible for the Quality Assurance process?
Perfect opportunities to ask open, probing questions and provide evidence to support the applicants and their applications are often missed. It is essential that Panel Members have an evidence-based, analytical and reflective report to be able to make informed recommendations, with reasons.
Part of the objective of the course is to look at the assessment schedule and the importance of the relationship between the assessor and the Quality Assurance lead, what things are important to ensure that this role is effective throughout the fostering application and not something that is an “add on” at the end of the process.
We will then consider the ongoing role of Quality Assurance in the agency, how we learn from any given situation and the importance of evidencing the process of Quality Assuring the day-to-day work within the organisation, and how we evidence this to show we reflect, learn and develop.
Together we will explore:
The Quality Assuring role - supporting the Assessor
A plan for QA – how to join up the process
A detailed look at quality-assuring during assessments
Learning from themes and patterns from ongoing practice
How we evidence our learning and development, management oversight
